Two Trek covers from Joe 90 Top Secret, a British weekly from the late 1960s. Unlike American comic books, UK comic magazines of the period were anthologies featuring licensed and original strips, a tradition that continues today in 2000 AD and its brethren.

This is cool, but I have questions about the SUPER CORGI COMPETITION in the first image that will likely never be answered.*

* Actually, I looked it up and it turns out there’s a British company that makes models of ships and such called Corgi. So I guess that’s that, but for a second I would like to imagine instead a universe where a magazine’s readers were encouraged to come up with concepts for corgis with superpowers in a contest that would grant fabulous prizes.
