twin-boat-trams-in-san-francisco

[A]s of July 15 there are now two ship-shape “boat tram” streetcars sailing on the streets of San Francisco. While No. 228 has been a member of the fleet since 1984, No. 233 is new on the scene. It came to San Francisco in 2013 with the help of Market Street Railway and is now in service after undergoing repairs.

The new boat tram is one of many F-line trams, trolleys, and streetcars which the Market Street Railway purchased and donated to Muni. Quite a few of the extras which make the F-line special – the informational signs and maps, flags, fliers, even some of the paint used to recreate historic liveries – comes by way of Market Street Railway donations.
