Among the few remaining above-ground vestiges of the old Post Office Railway are a couple of fading signs like this on rusting gates in Phoenix Place, London. The railway is still there though, snaking its way 70 metres below ground between Mount Pleasant and Paddington and ready to be reborn as Mail Rail, one of The Postal Museum’s attractions when it opens in spring 2017.
