Sofia and Zucca (Italian for “pumpkin”) were a jawdropping pair as they glided/scampered down Valencia St. Sunday afternoon.

Is this a typical thing for you? Skating around with your dog?
Pretty much, yeah. When it’s sunny in San Francisco I tend to shed my clothes. It’s the only way to stay tan.

What are you listening to?
Madonna, MDNA. There’s a concert in San Jose October 6th so I’m like, gettin’ ready.

How long have you had your skates?
For a while—like, four years? They’re roller derby skates—they’re better to skate outside with. I have indoor skates too for more like roller disco stuff, but these are good for street.

Where do you go to roller disco?
There’s the one on Sundays in Golden Gate Park, they have like the big speaker. But those guys also rent out Mighty and maybe do a night thing, and then it’s like—dress up, roller disco. It’s kind of once every three months type thing. It’s super fun.

Do you do roller derby also?
I don’t, no. I don’t want to lose my teeth!
