F is for FAC 191 (Fred, the Haçienda cat)
Factory Records were well-known for their unusual cataloguing system, which included such varied items as a lawsuit and a coffin; the most unusual, though, was probably FAC 191, the cat that lived in the basement of the Haçienda. It must have been quite a contented cat, as it was fed and looked after and the club’s basement was filled with tiny mice, many of which ended up in the bottom of used pint glasses, blind drunk.
