bay-area-bike-share

In just two months the San Francisco Bay Area’s eagerly awaited regional bike sharing program will launch with 700 bikes and 70 bike stations.

For a $100 annual fee, members will be able to check bikes out from any station and return to any other station. There are not additional fees for the first 30 minutes which should be enough time in most cases to get where you’re going. The 30 minutes starts over when checking out another bike for the return trip.

Half of the stations at launch will be located in downtown San Francisco and the rest clusters around the Caltrain stations in Redwood City, Palo Alto, Mountain View, and San Jose with 50 more bike stations to be added next year.

The SFMTA is looking for feedback on the proposed bike share stations. You can comment on the proposed locations and add your own on the SFMTA bike share location map. Where would you like to see one and why?
