Volcano the size of New Mexico discovered off Japan
MSN News: The largest volcano in the world, and possibly one of the largest in the Solar System, has been discovered off the coast of Japan by scientists.
The volcano has been named Tamu Massif by the scientist who discovered it, after Texas A&M University where he taught for decades.
Tamu Massif dwarfs its nearest rival, Hawaii’s Mauna Loa, which occupies roughly 2% of the size of the giant volcano.
