a black and white photo collage of 9 photos, each labeled with a small number on an edge (except 5 which is in the middle of the collage), the composition is a small room with a TV in the center. the TV is on and too bright to discern an image. a closet door is open on the right side, showing a mirror, which shows a hutch in reflection. left side shows a clothes hamper visible. the 9 frames seem carefully framed so that from top to bottom the room is visible, eg. possible a step ladder was used.

a photo collage of several dozen color photos mounted on a camel brown background which presumably is chosen to match the color palette of the room in the collage (based on the wallpaper and drapes). the hotel room seems large, with open door showing an adjacent room with a TV and a bathroom. in the foreground the photographer is on a bed with a newspaper and personal items. in the center of the composition is a mirror where you can see a reflection of Hockney holding the camera. the first impression is haphazard but looking at the collage it's clear Hockney is careful about documenting certain aspects of the scene.
