I went to the Mini factory in Munich and discovered a lot about their in-vehicle computer system. The Minimalism Analyser is the gamification of fuel efficient driving, awarding you points for good use of brakes, acceleration, etc. One dashboard game requires the driver to balance a virtual fishbowl above the car with the intention of keeping the goldfish safe. Mission Control reads out sensor readings in natural language. Dynamic Music is a real-time generative song that changes tempo to match your driving, and when you suddenly break you hear the music roll from the back speakers to the front. The Mini is now fully integrated with your iPhone, Social Media such as Twitter and Facebook, and of course Google search and navigation. Journalists have been invited to Test Drive the software.
